Al Garcia: Ciao! (with Alex Perweiler)

(GI) Gallery

Dylan, 2019, Oil and urethane on aluminum, 10.5″×7″

In 1957, she had a small part as a dancer in The Prince and the Show Girl.

Reporter:     Lets see if you can recognize yourself.

Carol:              I remember I had dark hair at the time…

Carol is looking for visual cues—what she is wearing rather than what she

looks like. Her prosopagnosia, better known as “face blindess”, demands it.

Carol:              Yes there I am…with the partner with the wavy hair.

Reporter:     So you recognize every visual cue but your own face?

Carol:              Yes! I wouldn’t recognize my face.
